Keuka College will host its fourth annual Keuka College Expo (KCx) on Saturday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Lightner Library.
KCx brings together the academic, artistic, scholarly, and creative accomplishments of students, faculty, and staff in a dynamic, campus-wide showcase of experiential learning. Featuring some 100 presentations, exhibits, and demonstrations, the Expo highlights the hands-on, career-focused education that defines the Keuka College philosophy.
A hallmark of that education is the College’s distinctive Field Period® program, which gives students the opportunity to explore careers, conduct research, and gain real-world experience in professional – and sometimes international – settings. At KCx, students bring those experiences back to Keuka Park, sharing insights, projects, and discoveries with the campus community and the public.
“KC Expo is where learning becomes visible,” said Keuka College Associate Vice President for Experiential Education and Wellness Dr. Carrie Roberts, an Expo organizer. “It’s a powerful reminder that our students are not just absorbing knowledge – they’re applying it, questioning it, and contributing meaningfully to their fields.”
The Expo will also feature a keynote address by Dr. Kathleen Clarke-Anderson ’83, a clinical supervisor and professor in residence at William Paterson University and adjunct professor of English at Union College of Union County, N.J. Titled “Experiential Learning as a Catalyst for Career Readiness,” her presentation will explore how hands-on, student-driven learning fosters deeper engagement and prepares students for success beyond the classroom.
Dr. Clarke-Anderson, a certified facilitator in Universal Design for Learning, artificial intelligence, and diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and belonging (DEIJB), has extensive experience developing innovative programs, including work supporting neurodiverse learners and students with intellectual disabilities.
KCx is designed to be interactive and accessible, offering attendees the chance to engage directly with presenters, ask questions, and explore disciplines ranging from the sciences and social disciplines to the arts and humanities.
“What makes KC Expo so special is the range of scholarship on display,” said Dr. Roberts. “From scientific research and clinical inquiry to creative expression and community-based projects, all of the presentations are rooted in experiential learning.”
